Dinner and Luncheon Information
The Bryn Mawr Hound Show traditionally opens with an informal dinner on Friday evening preceeding the show. This event is extremely popular and features a horn blowing competition which is a qualifying event for the North American Horn Blowing Championship, sponsored by the MFHA. The competition features both amateur and professional divisions; the professional division is open to huntsmen and staff of exhibiting packs.
This year, we are please to annouce a special exhibition of Otterhounds, presented by the Otterhound Club of America, which will be held before the horn blowing competition. (Otterhounds were used in packs to hunt river otter, reaching their peak of popularity in the years preceding World War I. There are now fewer than 1000 Otterhounds world wide.)
Because this dinner is often sold out, please reserve as early as possible.
Cost of the dinner is $50 per person when reserved at least 10 days in advance of the event, and $60 per person thereafter (if available.) Children under 12 are half price.
